Free First Friday Focus: Theresa Papanikolas - Seattle Art Museum - Seattle

This month's First Friday Focus features Theresa Papanikolas, SAM's Ann M. Barwick Curator of American Art, as she discusses "Georgia O'Keeffe: Abstract Variations."This exhibition celebrates the recent acquisition of Georgia O’Keeffe’s "Music, Pink and Blue, No. 1," a gift of former trustee Barney A. Ebsworth. One of O’Keeffe’s early triumphs, "Music, Pink and Blue, No. 1" is the first complete expression of her personal brand of modernism and the culmination of her journey from student to teacher to independent artist.Free with RSVPbit.ly/MarchFirstFriday20First Friday Focus is a free midday program featuring curators, artists, scholars, and creative minds behind SAM’s exhibitions. On the first Friday of every month (November-May), hear from a SAM curator or special guest and get an in-depth look at art and ideas related to SAM’s exhibitions and collection. After the program, visit the galleries with a fresh perspective and deeper understanding of the art and artists on view.Photo: Honolulu Museum of Art
