Ages 14+In this workshop, you will learn beginner skills of weaving and create a small wall hanging with fiber artist Erin Kraftchick! She’ll show you how to warp a loom, the basic supplies you need for weaving, and how to make a rya knots and a soumak weave. With these skills and some practice, you can make other small items such as coasters or work your way up to making larger tapestries. We’ll provide all the supplies you need. You may find you’re ready for advanced techniques by the end of the session! About the instructor- Erin Kraftchick has a degree in Art and Design with a focus on textiles. Her background is in sewing and costuming, but she also has a passion for all yarn arts such as weaving, crochet and macrame. All Supplies Included!An oval loom from Niroma Studio is included with your registration fee. These beautiful looms are designed and made in the US from sturdy oak hardwood, and finished with a clear satin varnish.Students will choose from a variety of yarns and other weaving fibers, to create a unique and personal project.
