Margaret Hudson's iconic flower paintings will be on display at the River Center Art Gallery and available to view on weekends from 10-3:00 throughout March and April. These original paintings will be available for purchase with the proceeds going to benefit the River Center and to cover costs of renovating the Margaret Hudson Gallery. Fresno artist Margaret Hudson is best known for her sculptures of joyful animals and playful children, but after working in brown clay for decades Hudson felt the need to play with color and so she took up painting in the 1990's. After a trip to Europe, Margaret was struck by a similarity she felt between the architecture of cathedrals and shape of a tulip bloom. In Margaret's paintings she explored these sacred spaces inside flowers, painting a single bloom on 4"x4" canvas.
