Machine Sewing Workshop: Bento Bags - POST - Detroit

Hosted by POST + Donna Killeen, from Detroit Apron Co.Thursday, April 2nd from 6pm to 8pm$65, all materials includedExplore the basics of machine sewing while creating a fun structural carry-all bag.In this 2 hour, hands-on workshop get comfortable using a sewing machine to make a fully lined and reversible bento bag. Bento bags are so named because they were traditionally used in Japan to carry a single portion lunch box called a bento box. Don’t be fooled, though! These bags have a multitude of uses. Once completed you can use yours to carry groceries, wrap gifts, store goodies - whatever you like. Each attendee will leave with a completed cotton + linen bento bag, fabric marking pen, embroidery needle and floss and have been introduced to three fundamental sewing machine stitches and techniques.About the Instructor:Donna Killeen is the owner and creator of Detroit Apron Company. She enjoys working with natural linen and cotton fabrics to create aprons, hand towels and market bags.
