Yes, you CAN start seeds without a fancy greenhouse or special lights -- at home, and in winter! In fact, the outdoor method using recycled milk jugs is preferable for many plant species, especially wildflowers and other native plants that require a period of "cold stratification" before they can germinate. In this class, you'll learn all about stratification, starting seeds, wildflower germination, and more. Each student takes home a milk jug they prepare with wildflower seeds (provided by the Columbus Garden School, or bring your own), plus written instructions to make more. It's fun, easy, and inexpensive -- and a great class to include kids or teenagers interested in plants. BONUS: We'll take a tour of our onsite "prairie-in-progress" that was started in milk jugs in winter 2019. This process really works -- come and learn the successful way to get started!Class fee $20INSTRUCTOR: Tisa Watts is the founder of the Columbus Garden School.
